Mortgage broker John Charcoal is a major player in the financial marketplace and their predictions on where interest rates are heading often prove accurate.

They have been offering services and products since their inception in 1974 and, despite a short period of ownership by Bradford & Bingley between 2000 and 2004, they have been completely independent of the big lenders and what some perceive as finance house puppeteers.

They have received numerous awards including What Mortgage's 'Best Online Mortgage Broker' in 2007.

Charcoal has recently issued a bold statement urging borrowers to consider tracker products in preference to fixed rate and other deals, because they believe they offer homebuyers and investors the best form of protection amid the current turbulent financial climate.
